Well, it’s been a journey. If there’s one thing that’s true about me it’s that I know just about enough technology type stuff to be EXTREMELY dangerous. With that in mind, I embarked on my journey to start my blog. I studied YouTube tutorials and I read instructional articles but the thing about the way my chaotic brain works is that I take in only about half of what’s being offered because the remaining portions of my brain are considering things such as: “Did I feed the dogs?” “Have I taken my meds?” “Is that a cat I hear outdoors?” “Will the laundry ever finish washing so I can put it in the dryer?” and any other plethora of odds, ends and various sundries.

BUT!!! I made it! I now have a blog. Albeit a simplistic blog; nothing fancy, nothing spectacular but a blog. A place where I can write and unclog the clutter in my mind.

I have big plans for this blog. I’d like to start by cooking my way through a gourmet cookbook that I purchased over 40 years ago with the idea that if I knew how to cook “fancy” food with spectacular names, I could host fabulous, extraordinary dinner parties. Now, keep in mind I was a single mom of three young children at the time and on welfare so that plan wasn’t completely well thought through. Not to mention, when the cookbook came in the mail, I read the first recipe and immediately became overwhelmed because I didn’t even understand what the majority of the ingredients were. So, like many things in my life this cookbook has been on the back burner since I purchased it. Granted on the back burner for over 40 years but better late than never right?

Another thing I’d like to accomplish is to learn to be a great baker. What many people don’t realize, baking is a science while cooking is an art. Now I can cook! That’s one thing I’m extremely good at but baking? (Insert maniacal laugh here) There have never been bigger disasters leave my kitchen than when I try to bake….fallen cakes, flat cookies, overbeaten méringue….you name it, I can flub it but we’re going to work on that and I hope to share those adventures here with you.

Finally, my artistic side has just about shriveled up and died. I long to create. I plan to organize my studio space and start creating….anything and everything. Plan to see the progress of those creations here.

Of course, there will be posts about my dogs. The mainstays of my life with all their ridiculous antics and the happiness they bring me.

And, my blog just wouldn’t be complete without some brutal honesty about my mental health status along with the struggles and accomplishments I experience in that realm. Hopefully by sharing this content it will resonate with others who may feel and experience the same things I do although perhaps not to the same degree.

No matter what direction I go, I hope you’ll all join me on this journey to share the highs and the lows as I travel this adventure.
