It’s been a red hot minute since I’ve blogged I almost forgot how! Seriously, do you ever feel you’re going a hundred miles an hour and getting nothing accomplished? Or going a couple dozen different directions all at once until you don’t know whether you’re coming or going? That’s where I’ve been and how I’ve felt the last several weeks and haven’t had the wherewithal to even think about writing. But you know, that’s probably when I need the most TO BE writing. To clear the clutter in my mind….wasn’t that one of my stated purposes for this Blog? I know it was. But once again I’m falling trap to my mind’s faults and not following through with my plans.
You see February was transition month for Scentsy meaning we’ve moved from our Fall/Winter catalog season into our Spring/Summer 2024 season. As you may remember one of my stated goals was to reinvest myself more fully into my Scentsy business and I found February the perfect time to do so. But, alas, like so many other things, I became so hyper-focused on Scentsy I let everything else fall by the wayside.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot that goes along with transition month. We focus our efforts on making the most of the fact that many items in the catalog are being retired to make room for the new items coming out in the new catalog. Then we also have to pull all the Fall/Winter fragrances from our samples to make room for the incoming Spring/Summer fragrances. There’s just a lot of little detail oriented work to accomplish and my OCD goes wild with details. Me overthink things much? HaHa, ALWAYS! But on the bright side, I made it through February, got all my samples for March out timely, and even spent the whole month formatting a new text party model to use to try to increase sales. And in the midst of all that my monthly sales volume quadrupled February over January which had quadrupled over November and December! So persistence pays off now let’s just try to find a little balance, huh?
I already have a party running in March and am performing income producing activities everyday so my hope is March will improve even more over February. Maybe not quadruple but I’d be happy with doubling.
Hopefully we’ll get a chance to go camping over Spring Break. It will of course depend on my work schedule but we’re figuring ways to work around that like perhaps camp close enough that if I do work a day or two during Spring Break week I could drive back into Albemarle and work my shift returning to the campsite after my shift was over. But that remains to be seen. I’ve been working a lot of hours during February and for that I’m very thankful.
Speaking of camping, we went to an RV show in early February and now we have new RV fever. (Think new car fever on steroids. LOL) We’re on a 5 year plan to buy a new RV now. Then it will be retirement time and we can hit the road running. My gypsy spirit loves this plan.
I was able to follow-through with another goal to get out more with friends and went to lunch with friends Jessica and Angela both in January and February. We’re already planning a lunch outing for March too. We go to this really cool Mexican restaurant called Chuy’s that has a hip funky vibe. They have photos of people’s pets hanging all through the bar of the restaurant and if you bring in a photo of your pet, you get a free appetizer. We took in a photo of our angel pup Fiona Biona the Velcro Puppy in January and when we returned in February we got to see it hanging in the bar so we can always visit her on future trips. Jessica and Angela brought in a picture of one of their angel doggies in February for the free appetizer and we hope to see it hanging on our return visit in March. The way we have it calculated, we have enough dogs living and passed over the Rainbow Bridge that we’ll have free appetizers all year long!
So to sum things up, I’ve had a successful Scentsy month in February but balance has to be my focus in March. I can’t let everything else fall by the wayside while I hyper-focus on just one thing.
Think I’ll ever get it right? I hope so.
P.S. weight down 15 lbs since January
